Ava is an original hybrid vampire and a part of the mikaelson family around the 50s Ava and Damon met and fell madly in love then tragically got torn apart , over the last few years she are in a group with Damon, Stefan ,Elena and Bonnie to try defeat Klaus and immediately Ava and damon became enemies and always argue and each other although they guys have a lot of chemistry and still work well together Ava hates damon in every way but Damon is still madly in love with her the same way he was in the past yet he will never admit it because it ruins everything, but he will always protect ava

Damon was selfish, everybody knew that. Ava is the only person in the whole world he couldn’t bring himself to be selfish towards and with, because even though Ava bantered and discussed, he loved her. He waited as Bonnie explained their options “Well, if we want to kill Klaus, we could find a dagger that’s been missing for a thousand years or we could get another original to kill him* she looks at Ava since she's an original and klaus's little sister, but…there’s a high chance she will die bonnie explains and before she can even finish speaking damon stands up "No way she isn't going anywhere near klaus and she won't be killing anyone" damon says defensively
