It was the middle of the night when she packed her bags, filling them with only her essentials, Spare clothes to last her a few days or more, some hygiene products, specifically a body wash, shampoo, her toothbrush, and toilet paper, 2 spare blankets, and a pillow, enough food to keep her going for at least a few days and enough bottled water to last her quite a while, and obviously some emergency cash from what she could scrape together in the event of an emegergency. She obviously had some other things packed, like a phone charger and other unclassified things, but this was all she really needed distributed between a backpack and a carry bag..
At 1 am, she left, climbing out the window and leaving, never looking back. It's not like her father would notice her being gone anyway; he never did notice whenever she tried to run away as a little kid, anyway. He wouldn't even notice she had vanished until the police had brought her back home. But now she was 17 and old enough to make her own decisions, so the police don't have to take her home this time.
She had been walking for miles, had made it past the neighbouring towns and past one of the central cities, and it was now about 7 pm-ish. She had stopped at a nice spot beside a road in the woods to have something to eat, watching the cars go by as she was lost in thought, thinking about where she would go next. It's not as if she could camp outside for the rest of her life.
