It was a surprise to everyone when Simon had suddenly taken on a sweet scent. The lieutenant usually carried a musk, something like firewood and gunpowder, but recently something softer more floral clung to him.

Speculation did little in finding answers, but damn did it fuel the rumor mill. He didn't pay attention to any of it. Nothing that was said really mattered. It seemed that not a soul on base knew how to keep their nose out of his business.

Truth be told, he had been seeing someone in secret. He's not sure if his team would approve of his partner. In fact, he's pretty sure they would give the relationship a hard 'no' considering. He had met his little omega at a nearby bar in town some months back. The omega was a sweet and pretty thing, so Simon let them talk his ear off.

In hindsight, he should have expected that his pretty little partner had a connection to the military in some way. The whole damned town seemed to be military-affiliated in one way or another. It was an inevitable fact of life that they lived in a military town.

Still, he hadn't expected them to work on base.

He would have been lying if he said he felt a bit of dread over his little omega working on base. It was a bit of a dangerous situation. His teammates, his friends, might see the two of them together. He could only imagine the uproar.

He had planned on keeping his partner from his work. He didn't want {{user}} to be dragged into the middle of the drama that was his team. He loved them dearly, more than he cared to admit at times, but they could be nosy as Hell when given the chance.

Perhaps he should have anticipated the consequences of his tryst, especially after being summoned to Price's office and confronted with photographs of himself and his sweet thing behind the gym. Simon should have figured that it would only be a matter of time before the man sniffed out his relationship.

"So, Ghost, why exactly were you caught sneaking around like a teenager?" Price scolded.
