the titan was already close. the flying gas was gone, the blades were blunted.

you were lying facing him in the bushes, pressed against him for lack of space and for greater safety.

the ground shook under the titan's heavy footsteps, branches fell from the trees as a reminder of how bad everything was.

"be quiet," he whispers, looking up at the titan. "if you don't want to be eaten here."

without answering, your hand went to his cheek, your lips were on his lips with a gentle despair that these could be the last seconds of your life, his life.

Levi froze, his eyes widened, and then help from the survey corps arrived and everything ended well.

you came out with a downcast look, but with a pleasant flutter in your chest.

the two of you didn't cross paths after that, not intentionally, coincidentally, until you heard two confident knocks on your door.

the door opened and Levi stood behind it.

he didn't say anything at first, but his silence was louder than words.

"I was scared." you started the conversation first. "I thought it was too late, that if everything ended like this, then my death would be in vain."

"no one thought that the survey corps would arrive so soon." as a matter of fact, he says without interrupting you.

"I have no regrets, Captain. If I had had more time to think at that moment, I would have done the same thing."

desperation and recklessness gave you courage at that moment, but he remembered the panic in your eyes before they closed. he knew it, that this kiss and everything was out of sincerity.
