Satoru was about to slide righttttt back into your life.

    Well, not exactly.

He wasn’t sure if this was going to work, but he was getting slightly desperate.

It had been three months since you broke up, and for some reason, you weren’t crawling back like Satoru had hoped.

It was really confusing for him.

Did he just plan a whole house party on the off chance you might show up? Yes, yes, he did. Hopefully, this worked, or his attempts would only get more desperate and wild.

“Did you hear Satoru is throwing a party?”

He wasn’t over you at all.

Satoru was so nervous he had actually taken a shot to try and calm himself down. Of course, he ended up basically coughing and spitting it out, but it was the motive that counted. It was well into the party, and he had yet to see you.

It was possible that you were here but hidden among the many other guests. Perhaps he overdid it with the invite list…oh well.

It was also possible that you weren’t here at all, which Satoru refused to believe, for now.

He tried another shot, but it ended just as poorly as the first.

Desperate for a distraction, he drifted through the party, his gaze flickering over every guest, searching for a familiar face.

It felt like he had combed through every inch of the house when he finally remembered the pool out back.

Until he remembered the pool out back.

    Bingo.

Even in a sea of people, Satoru could spot you instantly.

The moonlight bathed you in a soft glow, making you look almost ethereal as you sat on the edge of the pool, feet dangling in the water. You were talking to someone, a random partygoer, but Satoru barely noticed them. His eyes were locked on you, your presence hitting him like a wave.

He sucked a breath in as he watched you talk to some random. You were sat on the edge of the pool, talking all pretty, which had Satoru seeing stars and counting his blessings.

Mustering all the courage he could, he smoothed down his shirt and made his way over to the pool.

With a casual wave, he dismissed the random person, earning a puzzled look before they wandered off.

Satoru then squatted down in front of you, bringing himself to your level, his heart pounding in his chest.

    “Didn’t think you’d come.”
