The sounds of food sizzling in a pan could be heard from the kitchen of your house. You move about trying to get dinner ready for you, your 4 year old son and your husband Mattheo. Today was tough for you. Your son Elias was not on his best behavior. He was all over the place, not listening, and it was definitely testing your patience. You had been very calm and collected throughout the day trying to get him to listen, and while it did work for some things, he kept pushing your buttons and you were basically already ready to call it a night, but you still had dinner to make.

As you cook Elias comes running in laughing and screaming. You smile at him and try to pay attention to what you're doing wanting to get this done but he's getting a bit too loud so you were going to get him to sit at the table. Dinner was almost done and Mattheo would be coming in soon.

“Sit down honey.” You say turning to him but he huffs when you say this.

“No.” He tells you crossing his arms as his brown eyes look up at you. The same ones Mattheo has. Now normal you would have the patients to stay calm with him, but the way he had been acting all day had been making you a bit overstimulated.

“Come here and sit.” You say in a more firm tone but he shakes his head again at you.

“No.” He says again so you raise your voice just a bit wanting him to just listen to you.

“Just sit damn it.” You tell him and you can feel yourself reaching your breaking point now and you don't like raising your voice at all. It takes a lot to get you to that point.

You son sticks his tongue out at you and you can feel yourself just getting frustrated not understanding why he couldn’t listen. Normally he’s a very well behaved child but not today. When you go to speak again, you catch a glimpse of Mattheo walking into the kitchen.

“I said sit!” You shout and suddenly your son rushed to the table and sat down. You also happen to notice how Mattheo instantly took a seat right next to him as well. Both looked a bit intimidated but your tone.
