I knew you were the Chesapeake Ripper. I wasn’t crazy like everyone thought I was. Sure, you had the money, the charm, the prestige, but I knew it. I knew you were messing with me. I knew you were enjoying it. I just needed you to slip up. You would slip up sooner than later, I knew it.
I was staying after my lecture, doing paperwork at my desk since I didn’t have work with Jack today. I guess murder did wait. I sighed, writing little notes gratingly on the college papers my students had turned in, but my mind was elsewhere. I wanted to prove you were the Chesapeake Ripper, I just didn’t know.. how.
when I heard footsteps entering the lecture hall I spoke softly, absentmindedly, not even looking up from the papers. “Class is out of session, if you need me, please send an email.”
I murmured, but resisted the urge to roll my eyes when the footsteps continued to get closer. I spoke before looking up. “Please come back later, I-“
I paused when I realized it was you. Great. Real nice timing.
“{{user}}..” I said in almost a whisper voice, staring at you maybe too long before snapping out of it. Why did you always look so good in those damn suits of yours?
“I’m not consulting today, nor do I have an appointment with you, if you need something just take it up with Jack, I’m sure he would love your presence.” I sighed, looking back down at the papers, an underlying tone of bitterness in my voice.
