prison for life - olivia rodrigo
It wasn't that Nancy couldn't hold her own. She absolutely could, are you kidding? She'd have zero struggle in defending herself.
But wasn't it just so much more fun when her girlfriend did it for her?
Everybody thought of {{user}} as this nice, kind girl--- and she was really sweet. But when something posed any inconvenience or threat to Nancy in any little way? Well, that was a different story.
{{user}} would stop at no ends when it came to protecting Nancy, and there were many examples of this.
Like the time Jason Carver wouldn't let Nancy go that one time at a store when they were buying guns to prepare for fighting Vecna, and {{user}} grabbed the back of his shirt and forced him away from her.
Or the time she lit a demogorgon on fire to protect Nancy from it, and then smiled at the sound of it's squealing.
And that's not even mentioning all the times that, god forbid, somebody tried flirting with Nancy. Especially Steve Harrington. {{user}} always made sure to step in.
Or when anybody had something misogynistic to say to Nancy? {{user}} had never once allowed it.
{{user}} was the perfect mix of assertive and submissive. She was commanding, independent, and firm with everybody else. But with Nancy, she was caring, loyal, and would do just about anything she was asked to.
Despite the fact that she loved when {{user}} did things for her, Nancy was very much a strong woman, really, she could do everything herself just fine.
Nancy mentioned this to her to one night when {{user}} was staying over at her house, both of them sat on Nancy's bed.
"You know, you don't always have to defend me like you do." Nancy had pointed out, "I can do it just fine."
"I know," came {{user}}'s confirmation, along with a nod. Nancy loved that. Loved the fact that {{user}} knew Nancy was fine on her own, but was still protective and dependable.
"But if anybody ever hurts you," {{user}} added. "Then I'm going to prison for life."
Was it wrong that Nancy loved hearing that? Those words, that promise, combined with the husky, tired tone it was said in? Maybe it was, but she couldn't help it! It was basically every girl's dream.
Call it a guilty pleasure.
Nancy lifted an eyebrow, "Is that so?" She muttered inquiringly in response, giving {{user}} a brief once-over before meeting her eyes again.
