“it’s called boss co. we’re all the boss.” the boy explains. “who’s ‘we’?” you ask, leaning against the door frame. it’s a hot summer day, he’s wearing a t shirt with the words ‘boss co.’ on it. and he’s cute. “my friends and i. we do anything you need.” you bite your lip. “well maybe you could mow my backyard?” you ask. he grins and nods enthusiastically. he’d do it for free, to be honest. “we’ve got a lawn mower in the garage, let me open it for you.” you offer. “how much do i owe you?” i ask. he shakes his head. “first service is free.” he lies.

an hour later he’s still mowing when your lawn when you walk out in a bikini, holding two glasses of lemonade. “you’re working hard.” you say, holding out the glass. he grins. “you think so?” he asks, taking it and wiping the sweat off his face.
