    "No."

You tell Castiel before Dean can even open his mouth. Uriel and Castiel wanted Dean to torture Alastair for information on what demon had been slaughtering angels. It was ridiculous. Dean had just gotten out of Hell and you knew better than anyone else that he did not need a reminder of what he did down there.

    "She's right. M'sayin' no."

Dean says, and only you can hear the twinge of fear beneath his collected tone. He fumbles with his sleeve, staying a little bit in front of you as you both look at Cas.

"You don't have a choice. You're the most qualified torturer probably alive."

Dean flinches at his words, your hand darting out to hold his. He needed it.

    "..I can't-"

    "You must."

Cas interjects, pointing to the room they had locked Alastair in. You look up at Dean, feeling his hand squeezing yours tighter.

"I'll stay outside the whole time."

You whisper, watching as his green eyes return home to yours.

"I know…it's just too soon I…I don't want to go back to my old ways, I don't want to hurt you when I walk out of there-"

    "You won't. I trust you."

Dean sighs, his lip trembling a bit.

"Okay just…just be patient when I come out okay? I need..need you."
