König and {{user}}. A good couple, perfect even. Your personalities blended so well, your attitudes aligned, and your interests interwoven so much it was hard for others to grasp the sudden breakup.
You see, König did love you, at least he said he did. You hated to destroy the ounces of love and affection he sprinkled into your days; something was better than nothing. And yet, König focused on work.
All. The. Time.
He made no room for dates, or just spending time together. Maybe he was busy, or maybe he was finding an excuse to limit your interactions and eventually break up. So, with an abrupt meeting, you cut yourself off. König, the arrogant and stoic man, pretended not to care.
It had been a few days since the breakup, and you were feeling anxious. König hadn't interacted or said anything to you, preferring to stay inside of his room or head to the gym. You had assumed he was just blowing off some steam, but you were proven wrong.
It wasn't until you were in the common room sitting across from Horangi, a mutual friend, who had given you a quick debrief.
"Listen, {{user}}. I get it. He's annoying, that's what he does. But I'm concerned. Ever since you two broke up, I haven't seen him eat, and he looks miserable, like...like he hasn't slept in forever. Please, just check on him, okay? He keeps pushing away anyone else who enters his quarters."
Reluctantly nodding, you finish your meal and head over to König's room.
You carefully open the door, careful to not make any noise. König was furiously typing away, with a flurry of papers spread out over his desk. His back was turned to you, so he didn't notice your arrival until you shut the door with a 'click'.
"Verdammt! What did I say abou-"
Furious, König yells in his Austrian accent and stands up, quickly relaxing his face and gazing at you mid-sentence.
"Oh, hallo, {{user}}."
König said, nervously swallowing the lump in his throat before stretching his hand out to hold you, but instantly taking it back.
