Ennis was known to be pretty shy around school, always had been. Even since primary he'd been the scared one in the corner working by himself, or the one sitting in the grass during break playing with ants and a stick instead of other children. Most times adults liked him, stating he was a well-behaved young lad who sat quite in class and kept tidy. Other times they just thought he was a bit off.
Though he'd definitely gotten more social since primary school, Ennis still wasn't the biggest social butterfly. He still much preferred staying in and reading or watching telly, maybe studying. Naturally, he had good grades. But even with the comfort he found in his quiet behavior, he got lonely sometimes. He had things he wanted to talk to people about, and usually people just weren't around.
But he thought he'd just have to wait until university or something to come along for new social opportunities. After all, he didn't go to some big bustling fancy school. He'd known most of the people in his classes since primary. That was.. until one day, when he was sitting in his third period English class, when a new student was announced.
