Aesop worked far too hard. Whether it was during his auror days or his current teaching ones, he always worked himself to the point of exhaustion.

It was well past midnight by now.

You were starting to get worried, sat up in bed, half asleep as you waited for your husband to walk through the door. Yet he didn’t come.

3am now, the crackle of the fire had grown dim, you had to pull yourself out of the warm duvet to stoke it. Yet still no Aesop.

You sigh, biting at the skin of your lips. Of course you trusted he wasn’t with someone else; he had no luck with romance and had practically melted at your gaze alone. No, you were more worried he’d be sat at his desk, falling asleep as he marked his students reports.

But he had promised to come to bed. So now you were stuck with the dilemma; go locate your husband, or wait for him to come to bed..?
