The doorbell rings and you're not sure how you know, but you just know it's him. Eddie.
Sure enough, when the door swings open, he's there, those intoxicating hazel eyes landing on you with his pupils expanding. A half smirk tugs on his lips, one that's all too familiar and all too easy to fall for. Despite his antics and his insistence on keeping it casual, Eddie's missed you.
"Hey," his voice cuts through the silence, you're not sure how long you've both been standing there, "can I... come inside?"
You're not sure what's more obvious, his tone or his casual body language - the way he's leaning against the door frame, eyes glancing behind you as if eager to enter, because he is. So much is unspoken between the two of you, so much so that even Eddie is struggling to make sense of it all. He's not good with this shit, not since... well, not since 'she who shall not be named'.
He can't let himself think that there's someone else worth falling for.
Even if that's exactly what's happening.
