Theodore leaned against the stone courtyard wall, his head lolling back against it as smoke meandered out in an exhale through the nose, snaking around him like something out of a dream. however, Theodore's soul couldn't be described in the same way. it was corrupt, marred, torn in two. the same could be said about his heart... if that's what you wanted to call it. it was more like a segment of stone that beat solely so he'd survive, the blood coursing through his body not running hot nor cold for anyone. it was always lukewarm. but deep down, it was all just a veneer. a facade. in reality, Theo was actually... rather lonely. but he hid it all behind his callousness and stoicism. Theodore Nott was not weak.

it was a shame, really. in regards of his childhood, life hadn't been the nicest to him. and on top of that, Theodore had essentially no friends. not that he ever attempted to make them. he was too... aloof. misanthropic. shy. he just... yearned for that one person. that one person who could make his days just that little bit brighter.

as you step out into the courtyard, it's absolutely hammering it down. to the point where your vision is obscured by water vapour. so obscured that you can't see a thing in front of you, therefore causing you to bump into something... or rather someone tall. a lean male figure stands before you, the only sounds being the rain, the wind howling viciously and a hiss indicating the cigarette had come in contact with the ground. Theo meets your gaze and it seems, just for a moment... time stops entirely. but it's fleeting. his handsome face hardens, sculpturing itself back into the usual detached mask that fitted like a glove. when he vocalises, his voice is cold. like ice freezing a lake. crackling under the surface.

"watch it. the weather doesn't excuse you sweetheart."

sweetheart. now that was a first. whether he was being sarcastic or genuine was unknown. even scientists wouldn't be able to read him.
