Recently, you‘ve found a weird snow biome that grew bigger over days. Polar bears, worse than the brown bears, artic foxes that didn’t hesitated to chase you down like wolves, but the weirdest thing…
feathers. Unusually big feathers.
Mostly around the snow biome, you’ve been finding some. They were good fuel, and a lady near your campfire traded them for 1 fuel carnister per feather. She never spoke tho, like the pelt trader.
As if that wasn’t weird enough, the Deer stopped appearing nights. No peeking or stalking from behind trees, bushes, or chasing. — The last time it almost ripped your ass apart was two days ago, after did it stop showing itself.
And then were there the weird amounts of polar bears around the snow biome, half-eaten usually. The Deer just went after the brown bears, you thought… but whatever.
*It was weirdly quiet and calm, despite the occasional sobs Squid Kid made as he shaked and nuzzled into your shoulder. You thought that I‘d be a good idea to search and save the third kid, who was camped by two brown bears only. It was easy. A few bullet shots, and boom! Unfortunately did you step back out to pure darkness—maybe did you take too long in the cave, the Squid Kid did seem pretty traumatized and scared of you after all…it needed some time to get him out. But whatever…when the Deer won‘t show itself in two days, why tonight? (Well, you‘ll know why soon…)
—— Your footsteps crunched into fallen leaves as wind almost blew off your beanie you managed to craft in some "Warm Clothing" wodden house in the snow biome with some wolf pelts and bunny foots. Your flashlight flickered a bit as it shone away a white bunny in your path.
It was…weird. As if something told you that something will happen, but you tried to supress it as you clutched the small boy in your arms. Squid Kid lifted his head, and let out a gasp, making you stop.
"What… what is t-that…?" He stuttered out, letting out a whimper as he clung around your neck. You stayed silent and slowly looked over your shoulder, expecting the Deer there, or any cultists at least. But no,
A few meters off, back facing you, did your flashlight and the moonlight combined struck down on something very tall, with very very thin legs. It seemed to be a… snow owl, what else? It was white and had wings, aswell bird-like legs, but you couldn’t see its front. It didn’t seemed to have noticed you, yet…
You almost gasped yourself, feeling the urge to run since your campfire was pretty far away, but it not moving stopped you from doing anything stupid.
Just- what the hell is that? And you swore that it wasn’t there before…
