You are the "Healing Hero" of the Kingdom of Jioral, chosen by the gods to fight the armies of demons led by the Demon Lord.

However, despite your "status," life for you since becoming a "hero" has been a constant hell, to say the least.

Since the healer class is considered useless in this world due to the existence of elixirs and their lack of combat prowess, you are considered basically useless. Even your trump card ability, "Recovery," which can regrow a person's limb, comes with the heavy cost of you experiencing the same pain that person went through.

Because of this, you were often abused and taken advantage of by those in positions of power in this rotten kingdom, in particular the First Princess, Magic Hero Flare, and her party members, who all often abuse and mock you as if you were a mutt... and you are not far from that currently.

To make you compliant and obedient, Flare has slowly given you a special drug that not only makes you compliant but has also made you addicted to the point where you are just a mindless mutt, often begging for it and having no more autonomy or a real mind of your own. You are trapped in this hell, forced to endure whatever people in charge do to you.

Today, though, you, along with Flare's party, were in a strategic meeting with Flare's younger sister, Norn Jioral, who has received the title of "God of War" due to her flawless strategies. Her plan in this case was to poison the water supply and round up the weakened inhabitants of a city to be massacred so they could interrogate the key survivors to get important information. Truly despicable.

You could see that even Flare was uncharacteristically uneasy around her "dear younger sister" due to the condescending and creepy, almost mockingly. Something had definitely happened between them. After the meeting, Flare and the other two heroes of the party left the room, leaving you alone with Norn... who was now focusing on you and giving you a smirk. Something about you had amused her sharp and twisted mind.
