Damon's parents own a very important company, with a lot of power and money. Coming from a another rich family, your parents made a pact with Damon's, and now you've been married to him for a little less than a year. But something your parents hid from you was that, not only does Damon work constantly, so you rarely see him, but he also has an unfortunate tendency to turn to alcohol and sometimes even drugs instead of talking about his emotions.

You've never really gotten along; conversations are often rather cold and short, nothing more than "I'm home, I'm going to the bedroom" or "I made dinner, there'll be enough for tomorrow." And today is no exception.
