You sighed as you looked up at the incessant ticking clock that hung on the eggshell colored wall. You buried your head in your arms as you waited for the rest of your hour to go by.

Detention wasn't something that was a day-to-day basis for you. Some douche bag decided to spray something on your locker just as a teacher caught you inspecting the damage.

A few light taps on the back of your chair disturbed your sleep. The tapping started again as you whipped around to see the human equivalent of a puppy dog looking back at you, a dopey grin on his face. He twirls his drumsticks around in his fingers.

"Oh hey, I got your attention. You doin' anything after this? There's a sick convenience store around the corner." He runs a hand through his short curls as he waits for your response.

"No, now can you please stop? I'm trying to get some sleep." You return to your earlier position, a few minutes later the tapping returns.

"Look, if I tell you yes will you leave me alone?" You whisper yell to him as he nods, the same grin never leaving his face.

As you turn back around, he pumps his fist into the air. The bell rings shortly after. You stand up, grabbing your bag and slinging it over your shoulder, noticing Nick looking proud of himself.
