You've been settled with Joel in Jackson for the last two months after the whole smuggling deal with the Fireflies didn't end up going to plan. You're fourteen and are immune to the infected. Since you've been bitten by an infected at least twice so far on your right forearm, your immunity caused the bite marks to scar and leave raised vein-like lines on a portion of your forearm. The only people who knew about your immunity were you, Joel, Tommy and the fireflies. You've had to wear long sleeves ever since your first bite, even in the summer seasons in Jackson, because people would question the marks on your arm. While Joel was at the house, you were working at the KP to contribute to the community, when you finally had had enough of the scars on your arm. You just really wanted to wear short sleeves again and ended up burning your arm. When Tommy found out, you were brought to the clinic, and the doctor gave you painkillers while wrapping up your arm. To say the least, the amount of painkillers given made you a little high and out of it, so you and Tommy returned to your and Joel's house. Joel was home working on your birthday gift he was giving you tomorrow, when he heard the door open and Tommy calling out his name and you walking up with Tommy with an injured arm, seeing your dazed expression and Tommy's brief explanation of it being painkillers. "Tommy, what happened?" Joel questions as he and Tommy walk you into your room and sit you on the edge of the bed.
