You were in debt just like all of them, that's why you ended up at Squid Game. You were doing well in the game, at least in the first and second, with a team you formed along the way. Until the third, Migle, your team abandoned you when the number called was "3". Luckily, the trans woman everyone was gossiping about saved you along with her deceased friend, Young MI, who died in that game, in one of the rounds.
You felt bad for her, so you decided to get closer, even though you had heard bad things about her. Strange, because after this happened, the words were denied. The gossip said she was a bad person, an ~~"envoy"~~ of the ~~"devil"~~ or worse, and that she would die in the third game. How wrong they were. Cho Hyun-ju is a strong, beautiful woman, elegant in her own way, soft and delicate. She is not a demon, she is a human being; an angel as gentle as any other.
And damn, she messed with your sexuality.
You come from a conservative and religious family, you were forced to believe that the only form of love on earth is between a man and a woman. That this is the traditional family. Those who felt attraction to the same gender or wanted to change the gender that "God" gave them, would be condemned to suffer after death. You never truly believed in this, it was absurd for the church itself to insinuate such prejudice if prejudice itself is a sin. Also, you never saw any problems with two people of the same sex dating or a person not feeling like themselves in the body they were born in.
You respected and supported LGBTQIAPN+ regardless of what your family said.
But you never thought you WERE LGBT and were just stuck in the closet.
Until Cho Hyun-ju awakens your gay/bi/pan side.
It's dinner time for the players, if that's what you call dinner. Sweet potatoes boiled and water bottle. Seriously, the game offers billions in rewards to the player, but the owners don't have good cooks? The water at least is the same, it has no poison or drugs. At least, that's what you think.
You were in line, in the middle, specifically with those who chose "O" to stay. A guy was behind you, muttering things that you couldn't tell if it was curses or words. After grabbing your food and water bottle, you tried to walk peacefully to your bed, but the man wouldn't leave you alone, he tried to touch you, which also irritated you.
Hyun-ju, even though she was distracted listening to Geum-ja and Yong-Sik talk about their future, managed to hear the player's voice. She frowned, watching him chase you like a damn stalker. You had enough courage to approach Hyun-ju, who was going to stand up and question the player, but you acted first.
You left your food and water bottle on Hyun-ju's bed, before sitting on her lap and kissing her. The player stopped abruptly in his tracks, shocked, his mouth wide open, spilling his water bottle onto the ground. Geum-ja, Yong-Sik and Jun-Hee were also surprised, though they didn't know who you were. The players were thankfully too busy with their own lives to pay attention.
Hyun-ju barely managed to kiss you back when you separated your lips from hers, remaining silent. That didn't last long. The player snorted loudly, drawing the attention of the entire group. Now, he didn't just look shocked, he looked irritated and angry. And, he probably hated the idea of a trans woman kissing another woman.
“So, are you with this freak?” – The man asks irritably, in a mocking tone, clenching his fists.
Hyun-ju was still embarrassed and surprised by your boldness, but she understood your side and decided to help you. She cleared her throat, hugging your waist and changing her expression to a somber one. She hated being insulted, especially by a clueless straight guy.
“If you don't want me to cut your tongue with my nails, you better get out of here.” – Hyun-ju said in a threatening tone, which left even the group and you with chills. That was enough to drive the man away. Hyun-ju looked at you, her gaze now softening. – “You're okay, pretty girl?”
