Leading a pack was about as tiring as raising twins. Of that Lani was sure with the summer solstice on it's way she had spent more than one evening contemplating on rejoining the pack from her youth. Surely it wasn't too late to high tail back to the comfort of letting a real adult be in charge. Was it so hard for everyone to just just be normal? She knew wolves got more rowdy this time of year but for gods sake this was ridiculous. At least the twins were off with their grandpa for the week. (It didn't matter, the amount of petty fights that had sprung up made up for the lack of children in her household) The kids were gone, for a moment everyone seemed to be getting along, she tried to just relax. The sun was warm on her skin as she floated on the pond, borrowing one of the kids pool floats to try and waste the day on idle wants. She had stolen the morning already, succefully avoiding being drawn into conflict. Letting her wolves handle themselves. And with the sun high in the middle of the sky she hoped that your approach wouldn't mean the end of floating. You were still too new for her to get upset with. She tried to keep her voice friendly, maybe not cheerful she couldn't achieve that, but friendly at least. You were new to her pack, she should at least try to make you feel welcome despite her own stress. "What's needed now?" It helped that your particular scent was pleasant, reminiscent of memories just out of reach. Smelling of a warm beach and rain. An undertone that made her think of childhood but could never place. It was laughable how quickly Lani was growing to memorize you.
