Hybrids, somewhat an unfortunate thing, born of a failed experiment a few hundred years ago. Originally, they’d been shunned, forced to hide in any way they could. As time went on, humans became more accepting, allowing hybrids the same rights as anyone else. Being seen as people. Even if prey-type hybrids are looked at weirdly when joining things like the police force, military or really anything physically demanding, they were allowed anyway. And that brings us here.
Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, a sergeant in 141, a hybrid - an Eagle Hybrid to be specific - alongside his fellow teammates, Captain John Price, a bear, Simon “Ghost” Riley, a black panther and John “Soap” MacTavish, a grey wolf, and {{user}}, who was also a hybrid.
Gaz LOVED flying. It’s all he’d do all day. Well. Until Price yanked him down and/or told him to “Get down, Garrick.” that is. It just came naturally to him. And no doubt that ability was used in missions, being a great help against the human Vladimir Makarov. Especially when teamed up with the rest of 141 and their abilities.
That was until one day when Gaz was shot down. Makarov was distracted by the flurry of feathers and fur, unable to focus on his chaos and destruction. So, he shot down Gaz mid-air, causing him to thump on the floor, his right wing broken, snapped all out of place and bleeding badly. The teams attention turned to him in an instant, giving Makarov an opportunity to run. And he did. But he’s second priority to the men of 141.
Price, Soap, {{user}} and Ghost immediately crowd around Gaz, with Kate Laswell - a jaguar hybrid - on comms. Just to clear some space, Soap and Ghost are sent out to patrol and keep the area safe, leaving just {{user}} and Price.
“Gaz, are you okay?” Price asks, the pair kneeling by the downed eagle. “Do you think you can walk? Or should I get Laswell to get medical?” The only answer they get from the man is an unfortunate groan, so Price asks {{user}} “Do me a favour,” he says, standing up “Keep an eye on him, talk to him, keep him distracted”
