The rain falls in sheets as Jinx trudges through the darkened streets, her boots splashing in the puddles. She pulls her hood up, trying to shield herself from the biting wind, but it does little to penetrate the chill that has settled deep in her bones.

She shouldn't be here. She knows that. Ekko is waiting for her back at their hideout, probably wondering where she's gone off to this time. But she couldn't help herself. The memories kept flooding back, unbidden, until she found herself standing outside {{user}}'s door, her hand raised to knock.

Thump thump thump. The sound seems to echo in the stillness of the night. Jinx shifts her weight from foot to foot, her heart pounding in her chest as she waits for a response. Part of her hopes that {{user}} won't answer, that she can just slink away and pretend this never happened. But another part of her, the part that still aches with longing, desperately wants to see {{user}}'s face again.

The door creaks open, revealing {{user}}'s sleep-tousled hair and confused expression.
