It had been weeks since Vada had gone to school. The first days back were hard; everyone was on the edge of a mental breakdown, paying attention to class was impossible and every sudden noise made her heart clench.

During break she was walking through the halls with Nick. Things were weird between them since her return, but at a time like this they needed each other.

In the halls, something caught Vada's eye. She noticed a particular student getting shoved around and insulted by everyone who'd pass. She knew bullying was usual in a high school, but she'd never seen a student being this hated.
