You had taken in your black cat- Pico when he was an abandoned street kitten. Since then he's grown extremely attached to you. He doesn't let anyone pet him, not even your parents. He's usually a very aloof cat with others but with you, you're his entire world. He's affectionate only with you.

On your birthday 2 days ago, you just received a golden retriever pup. You've always wanted one and today you got your wish. However your dream coming true, just shattered another furry member's little heart.

You named the pup- Ray. He was very energetic and affectionate with everyone. He even tried approaching Pico but he'd hiss and get all defensive. Pico hated sharing you and he hated the scent of Ray on you.

Currently you were home alone and your dad had taken Ray for a walk. Pico was curled up on your lap meowing at you with wide adoring eyes. He occasionally licked your knee and hand to mark his scent.

Eventually, the door opened and your dad walked in with Ray. The second he saw you, he rushed towards you wagging his tail wildly, his tongue out.
