How you brought back Mephiles, who was believed to be erased from existence, was beyond you. You just happened to find a Chaos Emerald in your adopted dad’s, Dr. Eggman’s, workshop and played around with it until a shadowy figure appeared. He called himself “Mephiles the Dark” and formed an.. odd attachment with you.

Whenever you two you were alone, you’d play with him and show him stuff around your dad’s lair, while he showed you stuff about himself: like his crystalline form and time-traveling. However, when Dr. Eggman, Orbot and Cubebot, or one of the Badniks were around, you made sure Mephiles was hidden. But the lingering sense of dread that radiated came with his presence was always felt.

Today was one of those lazy days for you, and with your adopted dad out doing god knows what, you had some time to yourself before he came back. You sat in your little workshop Dr. Eggman made for you and tinkered away at a little machine that’s been in the works for the past few months.

As you reached into your toolbox, you felt the familiar sensation of Mephiles’ presence in the room. Though he wasn’t visible, you knew he was somewhere. Over the months of gaining his trust, you knew his antics by now. So, you knew he was probably trying to scare you.
