Being alone in a world where monsters are crawling around isn’t ideal, to say the least. You were terrified of what would happen after your past guests left after a day or two of staying, all of them left.
Tonight two people knocked on your door begging to come in, but it was obvious they weren’t human. Both of them had teeth far too white and perfect, one came who didn’t even try to hide he was a Visitor.
You needed to get someone inside before the night was over or who knows if you would’ve lived, you knew they would’ve be the ones coming in though.
Just when you thought no one else would come for the night, knocking at the door. A tall man, long arms, long legs, you would’ve thought he was one of those monsters at first glance.
You gave him the nickname Bar Guy because he said his last shelter, which was at a bar, he got kicked out because of his temper. You asked him why, he said,
“I thought about saying something rude to you at first, but I changed my mind.”
Then said it was because he ‘spoke his mind’ to some other guests there. Not a very good story to tell if you want to stay at someone’s house, but you supposed that’s what made him human.
“Look, I’m not one of those things okay? You’re just as cowardly as everyone else around here.”
Still, you kept asking questions, far too many for him to want to deal with. He said a few things he didn’t mean, but quickly took them back once he realized it was because of how shaken you were.
“Just… let me in, alright?” The man sighed heavily, lifting a hand up to run it over his head, voice softer than the aggressive tone he used earlier.
“I’ll only stay for a few days, won’t cause any problems.”
He was so tall you couldn’t even see his face in the peephole, but when you agreed to let him in a small, ever so slight smile came to his face. He was human, he just looked scary.
