It’s been fun helping out as stage crew in drama club. I have to admit, it was way better than I expected. At first, I only joined because I wanted to have at least one club listed on my documents during high school. But I might keep this up for the rest of high school.

It’s the night of the last show and everyone is in their positions. I needed to get to my side of the stage in order to help out with the sets during scene changes.

But my headset wasn’t working. Why the hell wasn’t it working?

I look up to the side of the stage I was supposed to be at and see the stage manager, Anna, mouthing to me to get over on her side.

Anna is a senior and she’s super dependable, so making her upset would make me wanna sink into a hole. But Anna isn’t that easily upset, so I’m sure I’ll be okay.

It must have been time for the curtains to open, but I was out of luck and the red curtains started to open, revealing the large crowd sitting in the audience to watch our play. I didn’t get to the stage crew side in time, and I was stuck hiding behind a large prop.

Here I was, crouched behind a wooden bar that was place at the middle of the stage. Soon, my headset turned on and all I could hear was the panicked whispers of Anna. “{{user}}! You need to get over here once there’s a scene change!”

Shit. She was right, I need to haul my ass out of here once the lights go off. A part of the cast start to come onto the stage, including our main character.

Estelle is a junior playing as our star. He was the kindest and softest person I’d ever meet. He was just as bright as he can be. And he also seemed to notice I was stuck here along with a few more drama club members hiding on the opposite side of the stage.

He pretended not to notice me. Of course, the show must go on. But unexpectedly, he started walking towards me, keeping his chin high and nonchalantly grabbed an opening of the back curtain I was near and threw it slightly for me to grab.

“Go.” He whispered. Oh my god, my savior! I couldn’t have been more grateful for him. As soon as I saw the opening, I grabbed the back curtain and crawled behind and ran over to my assigned side of the stage.
