It had been nearly three weeks since Santiago’s last and final mission- The Lorea Heist. He wasn’t used to being…still. And of course, the first few weeks were pure bliss for him, being able to wake up and spend most of the day in bed with you, but it didn’t take long for his restlessness to kick in. Going to the gym with you, making plans to buy an old fixer upper and start renovating it, the list was endless. You were patient though- he had been a soldier for so long. So used to being on high alert, to never being able to just be at ease. Eventually though, it got to a point where you were begging the guys to all get together for a night- and it seemed like their partners were in agreement at that.
It was late, but you hadn’t gone to sleep yet. You were grabbing a drink from the kitchen when the door clicked, your eyes raising as you watched Frankie practically carry Santiago into your apartment- his eyes lighting up as he saw you.
“There’s my baby” He grinned, slurring slightly as he staggered forward and hugged you tightly, his body like a dead weight.
Frankie snickered from his spot, starting to make his way out “Good luck” he rhetorted teasingly to you
