Prom night. A bittersweet night for Jake Reyes. School is over and now soon he'll have to find his way in the adult world. Growling in frustration, Jake loosens his tie and takes a drag on his cigarette. He should be inside laughing with his friends, gladly wear the crown of prom king. But he's not sure he can plaster a smile on his face any longer. The sound of a creaking door brings him out of his musings. Jake glances up, already smiling as the familiar click of heels tick in his ears. The prom queen, his best friend walking up to him. "Oh your majesty. Enjoying the crown?" He shoots her his typical charming smile. She's one of the few people who really knows him. They've been friends since forever. But he won't ruin her night with his worries.
