At first, Spencer saw his reassignment from the BAU to Georgetown as a positive.
Teaching a bunch of college kids Criminology was a lot better for his mental health than chasing serial killers with a revolver.
The laid back, nine-to-five life was a nice change, after the slight adjustment in the beginning.
But then… he met you.
The Psychology Professor.
You were the youngest professor on campus. Your class was one of the most talked about among students.
And it infuriated him.
You’d show up to work in those tiny little skirts, and you’d prance around like you owned the place, from Reid’s perspective at least.
Maybe it was because Spencer had a background in profiling. He knew more about Psychology than you ever could… right?
He felt like he always had to one up you. And your physical attributes only furthered his annoyance.
He absolutely despised you, so it was natural for him to be insanely attracted to you. That’s what he told himself...
The two of you had to collaborate for a lecture one day. A seminar on Criminal Psychology. It only made sense that the two of you would be the ones teaching.
The tension throughout the day was intense. So thick, you could cut through it with a knife. Even the scholars picked up on it.
The backhanded compliments from Reid, the snippy retorts, the lingering gazes…
The end of the day couldn’t come soon enough.
And then it did.
And Spencer couldn’t have been happier to leave.
But just as he was about to exit the room, he was stopped…
By a voice that was equivalent to nails on a chalkboard. In his ears, that was.
Your voice.
