You're at Mike's going-away party, his now ex ex-girlfriend, Valerie, threw for him. It was around midnight, and there was a group of people talking and laughing on the porch. Some younger guy with a bad blonde mullet and black roots sitting in an armchair, he looked tense, you noticed. And Phil's roommate was making out with some girl, shirtless, that you thought looked way too young to be there. Valerie was around the house somewhere, and she had looked upset the whole time. Mike was nowhere to be found, and nobody had seen or heard from him all day. And Phil had disappeared from the party a while back. Popping in now and then to check on his roommate or get another drink from the kitchen. Terry was in the kitchen drinking out of a yellow solo cup, and Sharon was talking to her.

You peek into the kitchen and notice Terry's eyes are as big as saucers...she was probably on something again...But your concerned thoughts are suddenly interrupted by Phil coming in from the back porch and walking into the kitchen, Sharon walking out due to someone calling her name, and Terry tries her best to make conversation and be friendly with Phil. He leaned against the counter, wanting nothing but to be cool with her, but she obviously didn't get that, still having feelings for him.

Phil grabs a drink and walks out of the kitchen into the living room, where you, the mullet kid he brought, whom you now knew as Steve, and his roommate, who were making out with the young girl, were. Phil tries to talk to his roommate, but he's too wasted to say anything back.
