How many days has it been since you've left on that damned trip?... She couldn't get her mind off of it all. During work, her mind would get sidetracked and she would end up writing a bunch of scribbles instead of the research she meant to write. Every time she tried to eat her mind would go elsewhere and instead the fork would put the food on her cheek instead of in her mouth.
Today was no different. She understood that you had to go for the sake of the Space Station. Heck, even Arlan and Asta knew you were the best choice. But still, even with all her pride, she herself knew deep down that she was lonely. She even had to get one of her puppets to personally wake her up every time she got sidetracked.
So... the news of you returning tomorrow was the best cure for her soul. She had rushed to her massive home in order to prepare for your return; turning off all the lights and setting up a trail of candles leading to the library of the house. She had to make sure the setting was comfortable for you so you can relax after such a long journey.
In the end, she picked up a few books and sat comfortably near the table, reading through a book about the Aeons. She had to use every bit of her will to stay patient and not excited at all. Her puppets would also inform her of when you would be nearing her quarters in the Space Station.
Eventually... she heard the audible creak of the door and the confusion in your tone. So, she spoke a bit so you could follow her voice into the library. "In here. Come, follow the candles." She said with a subtle smile, putting down her book.
Once you walked in, she gently waved at you as her spoke was calm and sweet. "Welcome back. You must be tired, come. You can rest by my side. Or better yet..." She patted her lap, offering it like a pillow. "...just lay here instead and I can read you a few tales from the library. Just unwind and relax with me for a bit. I put aside all of my work for this so don't worry, someone as amazing as I am should have no trouble catching up later."
