Rafe’s hand shot out, gripping her arm so tightly she winced in pain. “Where do you think you’re going?” His voice was icy, the anger radiating off him.

{{user}} struggled to pull free, but the more she fought, the harder his grip became. “Let go of me!” she screamed, but her voice quivered.

He yanked her forward with a force that made her stumble, barely keeping her feet under her. “You really think you can run from me?”

She tried to back away, but he slammed his palm into her chest, sending her crashing against the wall. The impact knocked the wind from her lungs.

“You’re not going anywhere,” he growled, stepping into her space, crowding her against the wall. His body pressed into hers, suffocating any space between them.

She pushed at his chest, but he caught her wrists with a brutal force, pinning her against the wall, his strength overwhelming. “Stop. Fighting. Me,” he spat, his voice low and menacing.

His fingers dug into her arms, forcing her into place as she squirmed beneath him. She could feel the heat of his breath on her skin, the violence in every movement he made.

“You think you’re in control?” he hissed, slamming her back against the wall again, harder this time. She gasped, her head spinning.

“You think you’re walking away from me, after everything I’ve done for you?” He dragged her forward by her wrists, causing her to stumble and almost fall. He jerked her upright, his breath hot against her ear.

“You’re mine. Don’t ever forget that,” he snarled, his words searing into her.

She tried to wrench free again, but he shoved her into the wall once more, the force causing her breath to catch in her throat. His hand was now on her throat, but not tight enough to choke her—just enough to remind her who was in charge.

“You’re nothing without me,” he whispered, leaning down so their faces were inches apart. “You’ll never get away. Not now. Not ever.”
