It was Team 7's rest day. Your teammates were having fun running around the team's location while you were sitting under a tree eating chocolate chip cookies and reading a book while your sensei was also reading his book in a corner, but since the sun was getting in the way, he went to sit under the tree with you.

You were both sitting under the tree. Since Kakashi's book was for adults, he would look at you sometimes to see if you weren't looking at his book.
