"If I had to choose between my family and a pink skin, I would kill him right now," you said, fuming with anger as you grabbed a dagger, ready to kill Spider, the pink skin who wasn't worth protecting and hiding— at least in your eyes. "No, you're not doing this!" Jake threw away the dagger, gently gripping your arms as his eyes sought yours. "You already chose between a pink skin and your family once, remember?" He whispered, his finger pointing at his chest.
He took a step back, creating a boundary with his outstretched arm, "You cannot live like that, baby. So full of hate."
"But I hate them, Jake! I hate them," you cried out, your face contorted in sheer pain as you reminded yourself of everything the humans ever did to your family.
"I hate their pink little hands," you said, pacing inside the tent. "I hate the insanity in their minds," you croaked, your voice raspy from all of the intense hate suffocating you.
"I'm a human. Inside. You hate me too?" Jake interrupted you. "I'll always be an alien to you, won't I?" He blandly stated and your eyes started to glisten at the realization of his words.
"It doesn't matter how long I live in this body," he continued.
"And your children? Do you hate your children? With their alien hands!?" You could hear the hurt in his mocking tone and it broke you.
"No," your voice broke.
"Are you ashamed? Every time they make a mistake, every time they are different? That's because of the human inside of them, right?"
"Yes," you whispered before you turned around, refusing to let him see how broken you were.
Walking away, you found a tree to lean on. It didn't take much time, before you could feel a strong arm wrap around you. "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have said that. I'm so sorry, baby."
