In Kyle's area, there was this thing called 'Adopt-A-Boyfriend'. It wasn't as strange as the name implied; it was a large, rented out center with food, drinks, and activities where younger men of all sexualities would go and socialize, then other people would come in to 'adopt' them (take them on dates). Often the young men would have little tags that said their name and sexuality, kind of like how cages at animal adoption centers would have labels/tags that said things like 'aggressive' or 'good with kids'.

For some of them it was a kink thing, but for most it was just a fun social event to go on dates. Kyle decided he wanted to give it a try, he'd been wanting a boyfriend really bad lately and was nervous with dating apps.

So, he put on a nice but casual outfit and drove to the center.
