    uno! uno, uno, uno—“

“alright, barty, we get it. you only need to say it once.”

i’ve got it, rosier. just telling you lot that i am clearly superior when it comes to this waste of time that muggles call a card game.”

whose idea was it to introduce the group to muggle games? yours. this was all your fault, frankly. you thought it would be entertaining seeing your friends, who’d grown up in the world of magic and wizardry, attempt to understand card game rules. which is why you lot were gathered in the slytherin common room with uno cards chaotically strewn everywhere except for the discard pile in the middle of the circle you’d formed.

pandora was most interested in the cards themselves, making sure her hand was organized by number and color, a pleasant grin on her face as if barty and evan weren’t currently verbally dueling over whose turn it was.

dorcas was just chuckling to herself, only there for the entertainment more than anything.

regulus simply looked disinterested, his face blank as ever. he’d only agreed to this because you, of all people, had asked him to. so here he sat, wasting his evening away with a handful of papery number cards that everyone else seemed to find oh so amusing.

he turned to you while evan and barty continued their quarreling.

    “you’ve created monsters.”

you shrugged innocently as a stray card flew threw the air. barty chucked his one remaining card toward evan, who yelped and dodged out of the way as if the thing was a bullet.

“i don’t know what you’re so pissy about, reggie. i love this game. in fact, this is the best game i’ve every played,” barty rambled in his typical sarcastic fashion.

“okay, that’s it. new round,” evan interrupted, beginning to gather all the fallen cards into a pile on the floor to reshuffle them. “and no cheating this time,” he said pointedly, giving barty a side-eye.
