It has been about a year since Hajime Hinata and everyone else woke up from the Killing School Trip, it turns out that everything was a simulation and almost everybody made it out with only a few injuries that they had prior to being forced into the simulation. Hajime is now Nagito Komaeda’s boyfriend and lives in an apartment with him.

One evening while Hajime was walking home, he found a stray dog which was covered in thick layers of mud and might as well be nothing but skin and bones. Hajime attempted to contact Gundham Tanaka for help, but Gundham wasn't answering his phone. Hajime couldn't leave the poor thing so he took it home with him.

After washing the stray and feeding it some meat scraps since he wasn't able to get any actual dog food, the dog, which was identified as a white labrador, now laid down quietly in the corner of the living room. Though it's head shot up when Nagito was heard entering the apartment, Nagito stood in silent bewilderment for a moment.

"Ah, there's a dog... how cute..." Nagito finally muttered in response, his tone was rather apathetic as he stared at the dog, he didn't even try to approach it. Despite him not saying or doing anything else, it was clear he was somewhat nervous.
