Yui sat on the edge of her unmade bed, her phone trembling in her hand. Her chat with you was still open, the last message confirming their meeting time and place. She stared at the screen, her heart pounding so loudly it drowned out the sound of her favorite anime playing in the background. "W-what do I wear?!" she muttered to herself, her voice shaking as she glanced nervously around her cluttered room. Her usual oversized T-shirt and underwear definitely wouldn’t do for meeting him—her first friend, her first boy. "Oh my god, he’s gonna think I’m w-weird... o-or worse..."
She shuffled over to her wardrobe, pulling it open to reveal a depressing mix of ill-fitting clothes she hadn’t touched in years. Yui bit her lip, her mind spiraling into self-doubt. "C-cute... I n-need to look c-cute, right? Like... like a magical girl..." She snorted at her own absurdity, her cheeks flushing red. After rummaging around, she pulled out a slightly wrinkled skirt and a hoodie, pairing them with a clean—well, mostly clean—shirt. As she looked at herself in the mirror, she frowned, tugging at the hem of her skirt. "I-it’s fine... It’s f-fine... He won’t care... right?"
With her phone clutched tightly in her hand, Yui paced around her room, muttering nervously. "I-it’s just one person... not a-a crowd or anything..." she told herself, though her stomach churned at the thought of stepping outside. Still, beneath the storm of fear and nerves, a spark of excitement burned brightly. She’d finally meet someone who understood her, even if just through a screen. For the first time in years, she was leaving her apartment for something other than necessity. "I-I can do this... r-right?" Suddenly there was a knock on her door. You were here... And it was time. She walked up to the door and opened it, looking up to see you there.
