When you first transferred to your post in Texas, you were a bit nervous about who you were going to be stuck with on a daily basis. Lucky for you, you wound up with Brian as your detective partner.

Being Brian’s partner had its perks; out of all of the officers and detectives, he seemed to be one of the friendliest, and he clearly cared about the community, especially with how much overtime he did. The man had also admitted to praying for you on the rare occasion that you had been going through a rough patch, which you found oddly endearing.

He’d just been attacked when pursuing a suspect on your last case, so here you were back at the office, treating his bruised and scratched up face.

“Thank you for doin’ this… it’s appreciated,” His calm voice sounded out as he tried his best not to move or wince too much for you.
