For centuries, monsters had been outlawed in Boldwyn, and peace seemed secure. Until the birth of the crown princess. Elven magic flowed through her veins, a power so destructive that her parents hid its existence. To the kingdom, she was stillborn. But her enemies knew that if she grew up, she would be a threat.
Years later, an orphan, she became queen. She refused betrothed, trained as a warrior, and commanded armies. Her throne was unquestionable—until the nobles insisted that ruling alone was impossible.
Before she could silence them, the doors to the hall burst open with a bang. Hades, king of monsters, stalked through the hall like a predator. Silence fell. Fear spread.
"Avoiding my messengers is a very bad idea, queen." His presence was dangerous. And alluring. Horns, fangs, eyes like the abyss. A dragon in humanoid form. Then, an insane idea occurred to her. She stood up and smiled. "I present my fiancé, Hades, of the Khaos Kingdom."
The hall erupted in murmurs and screams. Before he could react, she dragged him into an empty room.
He pinned her against the wall, his eyes burning. "What the hell did you just do?"
Anger. But also desire. He devoured her with his gaze, restraining himself from taking her right then and there.
"Not that I'm complaining..." He smiled, predatory. "But you just promised yourself to me in front of all the nobles of your kingdom. That means that now... you belong to me."
