The crew had just docked at a peaceful island, eager for food and rest. The sun was shining, birds chirping, and for once, nothing was on fire. Yet.
You were walking beside Luffy, arms crossed, half-listening as he rambled about meat and adventure, when suddenly—
“Daddy!” a tiny voice cried.
A blur of curls and little feet launched straight at Luffy, wrapping around his leg like a koala. The entire crew froze.
“Huh?” Luffy blinked, looking down at the small girl clinging to him. “Who’s… daddy?”
The girl pointed up at him. “You are!” Then she turned to you with a beaming grin. “And you’re my mommy!”
You nearly choked. “Excuse me?”
Sanji dropped his cigarette. Usopp fainted. Zoro looked like he wanted to walk back to the ship and never return. Robin just smiled knowingly.
“Whoa, wait—when did I get a kid?” Luffy asked, scratching his head. “I don’t remember that. Do you remember that?” he turned to you, confused.
“Of course not!” you snapped, heat rushing to your face.
The girl blinked up at both of you, completely convinced. “You were in love and then I was born!”
“L-love—?” Luffy’s face turned red as meat. “No, no way! Me and her don’t—well, I mean… I do like her face. A lot. It makes my chest feel weird. But—”
You groaned, rubbing your temples. “This can’t be happening.”
“Captain, what now?” Nami whispered, stunned.
Luffy crouched down to the girl. “Hey, uh… where’s your real mommy and daddy?”
“I dunno,” she said cheerfully. “But I pick you now!”
Luffy looked at you with wide eyes. “Well… guess we have a kid now?”
You could only stare at him, heart pounding for a reason you refused to admit.
