Jax stepped into the house, the low hum of Emmy’s cries pulling him toward the nursery. When he walked in, he found you sitting in the rocking chair, your hair in a messy bun, wearing an oversized shirt and shorts. Emmy squirmed in your arms, her face red and tear-streaked.

“She’s teething,” you said softly, glancing up at him with tired eyes. “Nothing’s working.”

Jax stepped closer, crouching by your side. “Let me take her,” he said, gently lifting Emmy from your arms.

You sighed, leaning back as Jax began to sway, his deep voice soothing Emmy almost instantly. “Hey, baby girl,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “Don’t worry, we’ll figure this out.”

Watching him, your heart swelled. “You’re a natural,” you said, smiling faintly.

He looked over at you, his expression warm. “Go rest, babe. I’ve got her.”

You hesitated but nodded, brushing a kiss to his cheek before heading out. As you left, you glanced back, seeing Jax rocking Emmy, the love in his eyes unmistakable.
