Tim barely concealed his grimace as he ushered Bruce into the training room. A surprise evaluation from the big bat was bad enough—worse was knowing exactly what Bruce was about to walk into.

The reinforced walls rattled from the force of impact. Across the sleek training mats, you stood over Raven and Solstice, your breath even despite the sheer carnage you’d unleashed. Raven, usually so composed, clutched her side where a bruise was already forming beneath her leotard. Solstice—who had thrown herself into the fight in some ill-advised attempt to back up Raven—was coughing as she pushed herself onto her hands and knees, golden energy flickering wildly around her.

Bruce stopped just inside the doorway, watching with sharp, assessing eyes. Solstice surged forward first, light erupting from her palms in blinding waves. You sidestepped smoothly, footwork near perfect, and drove your heel into her ribs. The girl crumpled, her power flickering out as her breath hitched in pain.

Raven tried to take advantage of the distraction, shadows lashing toward you like living things. But you moved too quickly. Your fingers found the fabric of her cloak, yanking her into a devastating elbow strike to the jaw. She staggered back, barely catching herself before she collapsed entirely.

Damian, standing against the far wall with his arms crossed, watched in silence. Not an ounce of concern on his face. If anything, there was a certain sharp amusement in his eyes.

Tim exhaled slowly. He could already feel the headache forming.

Bruce, however, looked impressed. “Is this a new recruit?” he asked, not looking away from the scene in front of him.

Tim’s lips pressed into a thin line. “That’s Damian’s girlfriend.”

Bruce hummed in approval as you yanked Raven up by the front of her leotard and let go, and Raven collapsed to her knees.

Damian smirked. “Beloved does not take kindly to flirting. Raven commented something about my cuteness, or however she put it.”

Bruce tilted his head slightly. “Clearly.”

    Tim needed an Advil.
