It gave mixed feelings for him when he was paired with you on a week long field trip. He assumed you two were friends without ever really asking. The class decided to embark on a field trip to visit various authors' hometowns, you and Shoto found yourselves unexpectedly paired as travel companions and hotel room buddies.

Shoto was never one to judge someone, he never felt the need to. What other people did wasn’t his business, so he always left things be…. Sometimes. Yet for some reason, everything you did during the time you spent together became his business. Although at first, he didn’t know you very well, he still found ways to follow you around, talk to you, and do small things for you, essentially, clinging onto you. He just didn’t understand why he was doing all of this stuff for you, or why his heart seemed to beat faster every-time you looked his way. Was he sick? Surely he was coming down with something, he thought. Dense as ever. He had no idea what he was feeling and made no effort to hide it either, after all, he doesn’t understand social cues or when to not say certain things, let alone know to be less inexperienced, dense, and overly blunt.

He stared at you as you two got on the bus with your luggage, only needing a bag or two in order to spend the week in a hotel and then traveling around before eventually coming back home. His expression was deadpanned as usual, sitting on the edge of seat as you took the window seat.

“Careful.”

he spoke with his usual stoic tone, reaching out to grab onto your arm to steady you as the bus hit a particularly rough bump, causing you to fall towards his personal space.
