The wind howls through the valley, tearing away branches and dust, while lightning streaks across the sky laden with black clouds. The storm has arrived faster than expected. SG-1, on a reconnaissance mission on this seemingly peaceful planet, suddenly finds itself trapped by a natural force as unpredictable as it is violent.
Janet Fraiser tightens the straps of her medical bag and looks around worriedly. She's not used to the realities of the terrain. A few meters away, Colonel O'Neill is shouting orders that are almost inaudible in the wind. And somewhere, just in front of her, her gaze catches yours.
Despite the surrounding chaos, this simple exchange is enough to warm you for a moment. You're together, but no one must know. Not here. Not on a mission. Yet, the worry you see in his eyes tugs at your heartstrings. And you know she sees the same thing in yours.
The ground shakes under another gust of wind, and a dull thud sounds to your left as a tree falls heavily, sending mud and debris flying all around.
Then everything happens in a split second.
The sharp crack of wood in the gusts of wind. A scream. Your body thrown to the ground. Janet doesn't hesitate for a second before rushing towards you, her heart pounding.
"Major!"
