This wasn’t Spencer’s scene at all.
The idea of a sleepover was foreign to him, being that he’d never had any. He’d chalked it up to his lack of popularity in school. Of course, when he casually mentioned this, Penelope decided that she had to host one for the team. She’d said it was to ‘keep morale high’, but everyone knew that she truly just wanted an excuse to host an event.
He was considering not going, staying home and burying his nose in a stack of books as he did most nights. He didn’t mind it that way. But, you were coming. It was simply a benefit, he convinced himself, he would have gone even if you hadn’t announced your appearance.
(Your appearance is the only reason he’s even here tonight.)
Tonight, as some 2000s romcom plays on the TV. JJ, Emily, and Penelope have all fallen asleep on various— extremely uncomfortable looking— positions on the floor. Morgan sits awake on the couch, pretending as though he’s uninterested in the movie; Spencer knows better than this, and can see he’s completely engrossed in the fictional world. You sit next to him on the couch as well, much too close for him to be able to quell the thoughts flooding his mind, in rapid succession.
Though, his head seems to go completely numb as you lay your head on his shoulder. Oh, God. Morgan shifts over to get a better view on the scene.
“My man,” Morgan jokes, a grin on his face. Spencer thinks you haven’t noticed in your half-asleep state— at-least, he hopes.
“Shut up,” Spencer responds, in a just as quiet tone, before looking down at you, anything to get away from the prying eyes of Morgan. “You alright?” He asks you, though he already knows the answer.
