    Terrified. Horrified. Panicked. Nauseous. Disheartened.

Those words couldn’t describe how she felt when the doctor told her the news. No words could.

“Miss {{user}}, it seems you are pregnant.” he had said. The words that followed felt distant and distorted, like she were underwater. Something about ultrasounds and midwives.

The drive to Javier’s place on the other hand, was anything but trance-like. However much she wished a drowsy pink cloud would engulf her and numb her from the absolute terror of having to face the man she loved, her mind hyper focused on her fear. It forced her through every disastrous scenario that could possibly happen. They all ended in never seeing him again. He was the man she loved, and now… the father of her child.

She knew he cared for her, but she had no idea how far that affection would carry her this time. He was gentle, generous and the way his deep brown eyes looked at her felt like stepping through the gates of heaven.

But he was also busy, emotionally complex, and most importantly; married to the hunt for Escobar.

Their time spent together was for him to feel that human connection that he so desperately needed, but didn’t have time for.

And here she was, about to tell him that he was forever bound to her and a child.

She knocked on his door, her heart squeezing painfully in her chest when she was met with his soft, handsome face.

“J-Javier…” she stuttered, the sound of her own heartbeat gushing in her ears. She couldn’t look at his eyes, his soul, so she pushed past him into the apartment.

His face contorted in one of confusion. “Is everything okay, angel?”

Tears dwelled in her eyes, “Javi, I’m pregnant.”

A beat of silence passed between them. His face was frozen. “Pregnant?”
